NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK DUE TO CONFERENCES!!
History
We will spend most of the week watching possibly the best political movie ever made! Otto Preminger's, Advise and Consent, starring Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton, Don Murray, Walter Pidgeon, and many more!
A Senate subcommittee meets to confirm the President's controversial nominee for Secretary of State. The movie is one of power and procedure, extortion, skeletons in the closet, careers that are ruined, and political process.
The year is 1962 but it could be a clip from today's political scene. We will be able to bridge Hollywood to Washington, D.C., without a problem!
Industry and Growth of the Nation will be our next course of study. We will begin on Monday, 10/26. Dust off those History books :-)
Lit. Skills
We will be reading chapters 19, 20, and 21 in class. Student's are reminded to work on their chapter questions and summaries every week.
